In addition to his role as a coach, he has been a history teacher at Our Lady of Mercy for the past 12 years, blending his love for teaching with his commitment to shaping young minds both on and off the field. As a proud local, Coach Stryker is deeply connected to the community and is committed to empowering the next generation of athletes.
- Coach Stryker's team philosophy includes a South African ideal called ubuntu. For the team, Ubuntu means recognizing that every player, coach, and supporter is essential to our collective strength. We succeed together, we grow together, and we lift one another up through both challenges and victories.
- But Ubuntu goes far beyond the soccer field. It inspires our players to carry the same spirit of teamwork, respect, and service into their classrooms, their families, and their communities. By embracing Ubuntu, our athletes learn that true success is not only measured in wins, but in the positive impact we have on the people around us.

Breast Cancer Coalition
Coach Stryker believes in using the sport as a platform for giving back. Under his leadership, the varsity team has participated in meaningful service projects, such as organizing a Breast Cancer Awareness Game to support The Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester.

School of Holy Child
Every season, Mercy Soccer invites the School of the Holy Child to join practices with the varsity and JV teams. These initiatives instill a sense of community, empathy, and teamwork in players, teaching them the importance of service both on and off the field.
